  1. This file provides information for Shareware Distributors, Disk Vendors and
  2. Computer Clubs who wish to distribute the WinHTML 1.02 package.

  10.                          Distribution Requirements

  13. Individuals who wish to distribute the WinHTML package to friends or
  14. associates may do so provided that there is no fee charged in association 
  15. with the distribution. Please be sure to include all of the files listed 
  16. in PACKING.LST.

  18. Computer Clubs and User Groups wishing to add WinHTML to
  19. their disk library may do so in accordance with the Distribution
  20. Restrictions listed below.
  21.  
  22.    If you would like your Computer Club or User Group to be placed on our
  23.    mailing list for future upgrades to any of our products, please contact
  24.    us for complete details.  Our address, phone number, and CompuServe User
  25.    ID number is listed at the end of this file.

  27. Limited Distribution License:

  30. As the exclusive copyright holder for WinHTML, Gulf Coast SoftWare
  31. authorizes distribution only in accordance with the following restrictions.
  32.  
  33. ASP Approved Vendors in good standing are hereby given permission to
  34. distribute WinHTML.  Non-ASP member vendors must request permission prior
  35. to distributing this product.
  36.  
  37. WinHTML is defined as containing all the material listed in the PACKING.LST
  38. text file.  If any files listed in the PACKING.LST text
  39. file, or the PACKING.LST file itself, are missing, then the package is not
  40. complete and distribution is forbidden.  Please contact us to obtain a
  41. complete package suitable for distribution.
  42.  
  43. The WinHTML package - including all related program files and
  44. documentation files - CANNOT be modified in any way and must be distributed
  45. as a complete package, without exception.  The PACKING.LST text file
  46. contains a list of all files that are part of the WinHTML package.
  47.  
  48.    Small additions to the package, such as the introductory or installation
  49.    batch files used by many shareware disk vendors, are acceptable.
  50.  
  51. No price or other compensation may be charged for the WinHTML
  52. package.  A distribution fee may be charged for the cost of the diskette,
  53. shipping and handling, as long as the total (per disk) does not exceed
  54. US$8.00 in the U.S. and Canada, or US$12.00 internationally.

  56. You must fully identify all Gulf Coast SoftWare programs in your
  57. advertising, by the program's full name and version, and indicate the
  58. registration fee in the program description. The words Gulf Coast SoftWare
  59. must appear in all program descriptions.

  62. SHAREWARE DISCLOSURE REQUIRED

  65. All advertising and packaging information including references to 
  66. Gulf Coast SoftWare products must contain a statement explaining the
  67. shareware concept. Specifically, that statement must explain that shareware 
  68. software MUST be registered by the user, after a trial period, by 
  69. paying a registration fee, and that all monies paid for the 
  70. shareware version are duplication and distribution charges only. 
  71. The declaration specified by the Association of Shareware 
  72. Professionals is a good model. All such statements must be 
  73. clearly displayed in a position where they are likely to be read 
  74. by potential customers.

  77. Disk Sets & CD-ROMs:

  79. WinHTML CANNOT be sold as part of some other inclusive
  80. package.  Nor can it be included in any commercial software packaging
  81. offer, without a written agreement from Gulf Coast SoftWare.

  83.    ASP Approved Vendors who wish to distribute WinHTML
  84.    as part of a collection (such as PsL's MegaDisk set, or a CD-ROM
  85.    package) may do so provided that all the other restrictions are met.

  87.    Vendors (non-ASP Vendor Members) who wish to distribute WinHTML
  88.    as part of a collection (such as PsL's MegaDisk
  89.    set, or a CD-ROM package) must obtain permission from Gulf Coast
  90.    SoftWare prior to beginning such a distribution.

  92.    If you wish to add any of our programs to a CD-ROM or other collection,
  93.    please check the release date of the version you have.  If the version
  94.    is over twelve (12) months old then please contact us to ensure that you
  95.    have the most current version.  This version was released in August,
  96.    1995.

  98. Disk-of-the-Month (or Subscription) Distribution:

  100. If you would like to distribute WinHTML as a Disk-of-the-Month, or as
  101. part of a subscription or monthly service, then the
  102. following restrictions apply:

  104.    ASP Associate (Disk Vendor) Members in good standing are hereby given
  105.    permission to distribute WinHTML package under the Disk-of-
  106.    the-Month style of distribution.
  107.  
  108.    Others (non-ASP Members) must contact us in advance to ensure that you
  109.    have the most current version of the software.
  110.  
  111.    You cannot use a Disk-of-the-Month distribution to use up your inventory
  112.    of old (out of date) disks.  Only current versions may be shipped as
  113.    Disk-of-the-Month disks.
  114.  
  115. The PRINTED User's Guide or .WRI documentation files may not be reproduced
  116. in whole or in part, using any means, without the written permission of Gulf Coast SoftWare.  In other
  117. words, the disk-based documentation may not be distributed in PRINTED
  118. (hardcopy) form, but the end user may print a copy for personal use.
  119.  
  120. WinHTML cannot be "rented" or "leased" to others.
  121.  
  122. You may not list any of our products in advertisements, catalogs, or other
  123. literature which describes our products as "FREE SOFTWARE".  Shareware is
  124. "Try-Before-You-Buy" software, it is not free.

  126. Gulf Coast SoftWare prohibits the distribution of outdated versions of the
  127. WinHTML package, without written permission from Gulf Coast SoftWare.
  128. If the version you have is over twelve (12) months old, please contact us
  129. to ensure that you have the most current version.  This version was
  130. released in August, 1995.

  132. Licensee shall not use, copy, rent, lease, sell, modify, decompile,
  133. disassemble, otherwise reverse engineer, or transfer the licensed program
  134. except as provided in this agreement.  Any such unauthorized use shall
  135. result in immediate and automatic termination of this license.

  137. U.S. Government Information:  Use, duplication, or disclosure by the U.S.
  138. Government of the computer software and documentation in this package shall
  139. be subject to the restricted rights applicable to commercial computer
  140. software as set forth in subdivision (b)(3)(ii) of the Rights in Technical
  141. Data and Computer Software clause at 252.227-7013 (DFARS 52.227-7013).  The
  142. Contractor/manufacturer is Gulf Coast SoftWare, P.O. Box 2294, Sugar Land
  143. TX, 77487-2294.

  212. Vendor Update Program:
  213. ----------------------

  215. Most non-ASP vendors have standard procedures for acquiring new files.
  216. They get them from other vendors, BBSs, etc.  Most authors cannot afford to
  217. mail disks to hundreds (perhaps thousands) of vendors.  However, some
  218. vendors prefer to obtain programs directly from the authors.  If you would
  219. like to obtain programs directly from us, automatically, then please help
  220. us to cover the cost.

  222. If you are NOT an ASP Approved Vendor (in good standing), but you would
  223. still like to receive automatic updates directly from us, then please take
  224. advantage of our Vendor Update Program.  Under this program you can receive
  225. updates for an entire year for only $10 per program (this helps to offset
  226. our costs).

  228. To receive updates, simply send us a letter with your name, company name,
  229. mailing address, the name of the person we should contact (such as your
  230. disk librarian), the program (or programs) for which you would like to
  231. receive updates, and a check or money order for $10 for each program
  232. (Countries outside of North America please add an additional $10 per
  233. program).  Payment in U.S. funds drawn on a U.S. bank only please.

  235. The Vendor Update Program is available for the following products (as of
  236. March, 1991):

  244. All vendors participating in our Vendor Update Program will automatically
  245. receive any NEW programs which we may release while their Vendor Update
  246. Program is in effect.

  248. NOTE: ASP Associate Members automatically receive free updates and do not
  249.       need to apply for the Vendor Update Program.  This is yet another
  250.       advantage to being an ASP Associate Member.
  251.  
  252. The Vendor Update Program is only intended to help us cover our expenses in
  253. those cases where a vendor desires to obtain the program directly from us.
  254. If you have other standard ways to obtain programs, then you may prefer not
  255. to use our Vendor Update Program.
